As an important business and research location, Switzerland is committed to the development of comprehensive international rules on digital trade. Switzerland supports the freest possible cross-border movement of data and opposes restrictive state localization regulations. Switzerland is interested in the development of long-term, broad-based solutions for the digital economy in various international organizations. Switzerland currently has agreements with six trading partners, either bilaterally or within the framework of EFTA, with provisions on digital trade.
